What is Elderhostel?  Elderhostel is one of the many exciting
outside programs which are conducted regularly at St. Nicholas
Ranch and Retreat Center.  Elderhostel is America's first and
the world's largest educational travel organization for adults
55 and over.  The Elderhostel motto is "Adventures in Lifelong
Learning."  A not-for-profit organization that provides exceptional
learning adventures to nearly 250,000 older adults each year,
Elderhostel offers over 11,000 programs each year in more than
100 countries.

Saint Nicholas Ranch offers an Elderhostel program billed as
"Experiencing Greece without leaving the U.S.A." Participants
may choose from a number of differently themed weeks, including
"The Golden Age of Classical Greece," "The Iliad and the Odyssey,"
and "Alexander the Great," as well as special sessions on the flora
and fauna of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and a special new course
on the golden age of Byzantium coming this summer. Courses are
taught by outstanding university professors in the Fresno area.
